Betty Jean Dorminey, age 81, of Douglas, passed away on Saturday November 17, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Dorminey was born on May 12, 1937 in Coffee County, the daughter to the late Chester Dorminey and Clara Mae Odum Dorminey.

 

She was owner of Dorminey Sewing Manufacturing and was a member of St. Illa Baptist Church.

 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brandi Nichole Harper, great grandson, Lucian Harper, two brothers, Earl Dorminey and Vicky Dorminey and a sister, Linda Ann Morrison.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Lesha Nito (Pedro) of Douglas and Jeannie Harper (Buck Wiggins) of Douglas; son, James Ricky Harper (Dena Davis) of Douglas; ten grandchildren, David Chad Hall, Tori Micaela Nito, Chela Milana Nito, Teekeela Alis Douglas, Mardi Celesta Sato, Brittany Nichole Harper, Eric Moreno, Gabe Moreno and Rafeal Moreno; ten great grandchildren; five brothers, Tommy Dorminey, Vernon Dorminey, Ronnie Dorminey, Wallace Dorminey and Carlton Dorminey; and a sister, Daphine Dorminey.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday November 19, 2018 at St. Illa Baptist Church with Chad Hall officiating. Interment followed at St. Illa Church Cemetery..

 

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
