As of November 1, 2018, Fireside Pizza Shop in Downtown Douglas has a new owner. This owner is no stranger. In fact, he’s been the general manager there for several years. Daryl Clark, along with Bobbie Reliford, have taken over as the new owners of Fireside Pizza Shop. Together with their team, they will continue to offer the same delicious pizzas, sandwiches, salads and soups that Fireside has become known for.

Fireside began when Francis Lott, owner of The Atrium, challenged Luke Christian to fill the restaurant space in the at that time newly renovated building. Mr. Christian, who already owned a build-your-own concept restaurant, Surcheros Fresh Grill, thought the same concept would work with pizza, sandwiches and salads. Plans were put in place to have a stone fired oven for a different kind of taste. In time, Fireside Pizza Shop became a favorite lunch or dinner stop in the gateway to downtown Douglas.

Luke Christian, CEO/Owner of Surcheros Franchising Corporation, made the decision to sell Fireside earlier this year. With the franchising of Surcheros Fresh Grill, there was not enough time to give both concepts the attention they needed. Mr. Clark was immediately interested.

Mr. Clark is an aspiring chef. He loves to use simple ingredients to make delicious bites that will leave you wanting more. So along with the Fireside favorites everyone enjoys, look for new menu items to be offered frequently. With hard work and creative new items, Mr. Christian and the Fresher Brands Management team know that Fireside will be taken to new heights.

A ribbon cutting was held on Thursday, November 15 to celebrate the change in ownership and introduce to the community to the new owners.
