Ms. Ada Ray Bray Schevitz, age 83 of Douglas, passed away Monday morning, December 17, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. Ms. Schevitz, a native of Rocky Mount, N.C., was born September 25, 1935 to the late Hayward Bray, Sr. and the late Mary Collins Bray. 

Ms. Schevitz, was an active member of the March of Dimes, where she served on the Council of March of Dimes in the state of Florida. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. 

Survivors include: Children Richard Bergdorf of Statesboro, Julia Traylor of Leesburg, Fla., Donna Reynolds and her husband Craig of Virginia Beach, Va., and Brenda Littlejohn and her husband Jimmy of Douglas; grandchildren Michael Adams, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla., Melissa Doughan of Jacksonville, Fla., Daniel Sharpe of Jacksonville, Fla., Ray Littlejohn of Asheville, N.C., Josh Littlejohn of Black Mountain, N.C., Joseph Littlejohn of Douglas, Mary Christian and Stephanie Gail, both of Georgia; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

 

The memorial service was Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church with Mr. Jimmy Littlejohn and Dr. John Dobbins officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
