Cecil A. Dukes, age 71, of Clewiston, Florida, passed away on Monday January 7, 2019 at Hendry Medical Center, Clewiston, Florida.

 

Mr. Dukes was born on March 20, 1947 in Alma, the son of the late Otis F. Dukes and Nellie Godwin Dukes.

 

He worked as a correctional officer for the Florida Department of Corrections and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

Mr. Dukes was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Dukes Rudd; son, Jeremy Dukes; three brothers, Dean Dukes, James Dukes and Murrell Dukes; and a sister, Janice Deen.

 

Survivors include his wife, Laura Dukes of Clewiston; two daughters, Celena Wages of Clewiston and Amanda Dukes of Clewiston; two sons, Cecil Dukes Jr. of Orlando and David Dukes of Clewiston; two sisters, Dorothy Sue Carver, of Douglas and Chris Metts of Douglas; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 12, 2019 at Sims Funeral Home with Elder Gerry Ponce officiating and Celena Wages giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Alma. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
