At a general membership meeting on January 16, 2019, Commander Alfalene Walker and members of American Legion Post 515 presented a check for $600 to Boy Scout Troop 859.

Boy Scout Troop 859 is very supportive of Post 515’s programs and activities, especially Wreaths Across America; therefore, it’s Post 515’s duty to assist them in any way possible.  This donation will help them with their training and projects, stated Commander Walker.

Members of Post 515 are going to join Troop 859 in one of their upcoming projects, which is the collection and disposal of unserviceable flags.  Troop 859 will be at Lowe’s parking lot from 1 to 4 p.m. February 16 and 17. At that time, they will give a new 3×5 flag in return for an unserviceable flag, as long as supplies last.  There is no charge for the flag, but donations to the troop are welcome.
