Bertine Taylor Royals, age 80, of Douglas, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her home following an extended illness.  Ms. Royals was born on May 7, 1938, in Nicholls to the late George Clayton Taylor and Linnie  Taylor.

 

Survivors include: Daughters Linda (Ronald) Wilkerson of Douglas, Lynn (Michael) Miller of Douglas, and Wanda (Russell) Bullock of Douglas; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Royals; her father, George Clayton Taylor; mother, Linnie Taylor; sisters, Lucille Taylor, Euree Carver, Merlene Morgan; brother, Preston Taylor; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends Monday, January 21, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. John Carver officiating.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
