The 20th Annual Heart 2 Heart event is scheduled for Saturday morning, February 23 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.   This year, the events will include a 5k run and walk beginning at 8 am and a 1 mile fun run for youth beginning at 7:30 am.  In 2018, the event attracted over 260 runners and walkers.  Top prize for the overall male and female winners will include $150 VISA cards.  Designer medals will be awarded to the top three 5k runners in five-year age divisions for both male and female, allowing more winners for the Georgia Grand Prix Series. Everyone will have the opportunity to win some great door prizes including electronics, shirts, hats, and other items.  All courses (5k, walk, and 1 mile) will start and finish in the front parking area of Coffee Regional Medical Center.

According to Danny McCarty, CRMC Wellness Center Director and Run Coordinator, “CRMC obviously has a strong connection with the community as it relates to hospital-based care.  With an event like the 5k Run /Walk, we are trying to highlight the wellness and preventative health aspect of what we do at the Wellness Center.  The annual race promotes heart health and general wellness while we have some fun.”  Can’t run? Join loads of other walkers who successfully complete it every year.

Early registration will be through February 20.  On the day of registration there will be an additional $5 entry fee, so please get those registrations in early. For more information or to register, call (912) 383-6988, or stop by the Wellness Center at 200 Doctors Drive to pick up a registration form.  You may register online at www.wellness247.org/heart-2-heart to mail or drop off at the Wellness Center.
