Child transported to Jacksonville after alleged abuse, suspect jailed

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division announces the following recent arrests for the month of January.

 

Jan. 11 – The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible child abuse case involving a four-month old. The child was taken to Jacksonville, Fla., due to its injuries. As a result of the investigation, Kenneth Kirkland was charged with first degree cruelty to children. The child is expected to make a full recovery. 

 

Jan. 18 – Sheriff’s officials received a report regarding the thefts of two zero turn lawn mowers. The Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation into the incident. Subsequently, Dylan Cain Carter was arrested and charged with theft by taking. 

 

Jan. 19 – Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary at the Quick Change gas station in West Green, Ga. that occurred at approximately 11:10 pm. The Criminal Investigations Division was notified and responded to the scene. On January 22, Austin Tyler Moon of West Green was arrested in connection with this case. On January 23, Marshal Bounds, also of West Green, was also arrested. Moon and Bounds were each charged with second degree burglary.
