Michael Andrew Porter, age 45 of West Green, passed away late Friday night, February 15, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside in Jacksonville following an extended illness. Mr. Porter was born October 9, 1973 to Hiawatha Courson Porter and the late Frazier Porter.

Mr. Porter, a native of Douglas, had previously been an automotive consultant with Fairfield Ford in Fairfield, Texas.

Survivors include: mother Hiawatha Courson Porter of West Green, sister Nancy Phillips and husband of Kim of Douglas; brother Larry Porter of West Green; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with the inurnment to follow at a later date at Lone Hill Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
