Mrs. Sarah Jeannette Douglas Ogden, age 80 of Douglas, passed away Saturday morning, February 16, 2019 at her daughter, Angelia Tanner’s, residence in Sandersville following an extended illness. Mrs. Ogden was born February 25, 1938 to the late Dan Douglas and the late Jenell Carter Douglas. Mrs. Ogden was also preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Carl Ogden.

Mrs. Ogden, a native of Douglas, was a homemaker. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. 

Survivors include: children Sam Ogden and wife Treasa Kay of Tampa, Carol Veal and husband Howard of Sandersville, Teresa Stewart and husband Steve of Douglas, Angelia Tanner and husband Benny of Sandersville, Daniel Ogden and wife Caryn of Willacoochee, Chris Ogden and wife Renee of Sandersville, and Christina Tucker and husband Ricky of Ambrose; brothers Fred Douglas of Douglas and D.A. Douglas of Blackshear; sisters Carolyn Holton and Hilda Hastings of Douglas and Marie Chapman of Ashburn; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Tuesday morning, February 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Chip Woodruff officiating. The interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Monday evening, February 18, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel. 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
