Mrs. Beatrice Harper, age 69 of Lumber City, passed away late Saturday night, February 23, 2019, at Lumber City Nursing Home in Lumber City. She was born March 4, 1949 to the late Arthur Lee Gibson and the late Allie Mathis Gibson. She had been a waitress at Lillie’s Café when it was on Peterson Avenue. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: Nieces Barbara Baker of Milton, Fla., and Rosie Merritt of Douglas; long-time friend Melvin Davis of Lumber City; eight sisters and four brothers.
The graveside service and interment was Tuesday morning, February 26, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Chatterton Cemetery near Douglas with Deacon Tommy Davis officiating.
Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
