Janice Elaine Hamilton Day, age 58, of Broxton, passed away on Tuesday February 26, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Day was born on March 17, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Donnie and Reatha Adams Hamilton.

 

She worked as a registered nurse since 1993 working for the United States military and later with Coffee Regional Medical Center in the Labor and Delivery Department. Mrs. Day was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her husband, Jerome Day of Broxton; two daughters, Jennifer Floyce Day Childers (Zane) of Ocilla and Michelle Martinez Jones (Doug) of Jacksonville; three sons, Michael E. Vickers (Joy) of Douglas, Jared E. Vickers (Melissa) of Broxton and Ashley J. Day (Kristin) of Collins; sixteen grandchildren, Jaycee Lou Vickers, Ty Vickers, Kason Reid, Hunter Reid, Cody Reid, Daisy Ragan Tucker, Katie Belle Tucker, Clay Childers, Logan Freeman, Ansley Day, Sawyer Day, Lucy Day, Cole Wallace, Abby Lou Vickers, Miley Lou Vickers and Haley Jones; two brothers, Don Hamilton (Susie) of Nicholls and Jerry Hamilton of Douglas; very special uncle, “Papa” Dan Moore of Douglas; several nieces and nephews.  

 

Funeral services were held on Friday March 1, 2019 at 11 am at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Kirkland and Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating. Interment followed at Providence Church Cemetery.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
