Mr. James Travis McKinnon, Jr., age 46 of Broxton, passed away early Monday morning, March 4, 2019, at Gonzales Hospital in Gonzales, Texas following a short illness. Mr. McKinnon was born June 4, 1972 to Floy Patricia “Pat” Brown and the late James Travis McKinnon, Sr. 

Mr. McKinnon, a native of Douglas, was self-employed as a truck driver and escort driver. He was a member of Covenant Christian Church. Mr. McKinnon was a loving and caring husband to his wife and a loving and caring father to all his children. 

Survivors include: His wife, Marguerite Ricketson McKinnon of Broxton; children, Hilaree Dale of Broxton, Gabriel Dale and wife Cody of West Green, Taylor McKinnon of Broxton, and Destiny Hollinger of Broxton; mother, Floy Patricia “Pat” Brown of, Juanita, Fla.; sisters, Tracy McKinnon of Juanita, Fla., and Tessie McKinnon of Haynes, N.C.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Covenant Christian Church with Rev. Gregory and Jackie Pope officiating. The interment will follow in Reedy Branch Cemetery near Broxton.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Covenant Christian Church from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Douglas National Bank or Ricketson Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
