Mr. Roger Calvin Sears

Mr. Roger Calvin Sears, age 67 of Douglas, passed away early Monday morning, March 18, 2019, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Sears was born July 19, 1951 to the late Roger Hughes Sears and the late Odie Carver Sears Morgan. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Kenneth Sears.

Mr. Sears, a native of Coffee County, was self-employed with C&S Fencing. He was a volunteer firefighter and was chief of the Green Acres Fire Department. He was a member of Carver Baptist Church. 

Survivors include: His wife, Mary Sandra Andrews Sears of Douglas; sons Scott Calvin Sears of Fitzgerald and Corey Robert Sears of Douglas; step-children Richard Monroe Cutrer II of Calhoun, Margena Cutrer of Douglas, and Melissa Crews of Alma; sister Marie Mathews and husband Charles of Douglas; uncle Earl Sears of Douglas; grandchildren Dalton Sears of Hazlehurst, Elizabeth Crews of Alma, Ava Johnson of Pearson, Kloe Sears of Ocala, Fla., Phoenix Sears of Fitzgerald and Everleigh Grace Sears of Alma; great-grandchild Trenton Cole Sears of Hazlehurst; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The memorial service will be Thursday evening, March 21, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Henderson officiating. Mr. Harry O. Smith and Ms. Elaine Ragsdale will present eulogies. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, March 21, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
