Darrell J. Gillespie, age 59, of Broxton, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Gillespie was born on August 18, 1959 in Douglas, the son of the late George Ashford Gillespie and Evelyn Merritt Gillespie. He worked as a farmer, a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Gillespie was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Alline Gillespie and a brother, Danny Ashford Gillespie.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Martha Loftin of Broxton and Judy Channing of Wisconsin; brother, Dale Gillespie of Wisconsin.

 

Graveside services were held on Sunday April 14, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery with Rev. Joey Copeland officiating.

 

Sims Funeral Home in Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
