Winnie Lou Cady Ray

Winnie Lou Cady Ray, age 83, passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at Southern Senior Living following an extended illness. Mrs. Ray was born on March 2, 1936 in Douglas, the daughter of the late Paul D. Cady and Annie Mae Little Cady. She was a retired accountant with Fleetwood Homes and Design Space and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by three sisters, Fannie Ruth Weeks, Chris Purvis and Carolyn Wright; and a brother, John Lawton Cady.

 

Survivors include her husband, Claude Ray of Douglas; two sons, Juran Ray of Douglas and “Buddy” Ray (Becky) of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren Madison Ray, Michael Ray and Taylor Ray all of Knoxville, TN, Mandy Ray Adams (Josh) of Perry, Zach Ray and Cady Ray both of Douglas; great grandchild, Emma Grace Adams of Perry; two sisters, Lois Mills of Douglas and Faye Adams of Douglas; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 20, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Douglas with Bishop Michael Jackson presiding over services. Interment followed at Tanner Church Cemetery.

 

Sims Funeral Home in Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
