Jimmie Clark Carver, age 79, 0f Douglas, passed away on Friday April 26, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Carver was born on July 4, 1939 in Atkinson County, the son of the late John Henry Carver and Emma Lee Lowe Carver.

He worked as a welder with the U.S. Sugar Corporation and was a veteran of the United States Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Carver of Douglas; three sons, Dean Carver of Douglas, Jay Quinton Carver (Geneva) of Douglas and Chad Carver (Britta) of Douglas; daughter, Christa Hill (Rodney) of Clewiston, Fla.; three step-daughters, Teresa Taylor (Jason) of Perry, Fla., Denise Gaskin (Robert) of Douglas and Gina Jordan of Douglas; twenty-one grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 3 pm Sunday April 28, 2019 at Southview Church of God with Byron Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Tanner Cemetery.

Memorialization is by cremation.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
