Virginia Fay Foskey, age 77, of Douglas, passed away on Sunday April 28, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Foskey was born on August 5, 1941 in Ashburn, the daughter of the late Raymond Lester Wood and Thelma Rutherford Newsome.

 

Mrs. Foskey worked as a seamstress with Spectrum Industries and attended Covenant Church. She was preceded in death by step-father, F.F. Newsome; two sons, Tony Foskey and Eddie Foskey; and a sister, Carolyn Belk.

 

Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda Kirkland (Oscar) of Douglas, Brenda Simpson of Macon, and Linda Bryant of Douglas; son, Calvin Foskey (Tina) of Douglas; three brothers, R.L. Wood (Tina) of Atlanta, Bill Wood (Marie) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ronnie Wood (Betty) of Douglas; nine grandchildren, Scott Rice, Melissa Adams, Perry Rice, Dusty Bryant, Jason Foskey, Keria Mercer, Brittany Kirkland, Anthony Foskey and Heather Chafin; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Wednesday May 1, 2019 at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gregory Pope officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 3 pm until 4 pm prior to the service.

 

Memorialization is by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
