Bobby Jenks, age 80, passed away on Sunday May 12, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Jenks was born on May 4, 1939 in Ambrose, the son of the late Oather Jenks and Ruby Reed Jenks.

 

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Coffee County Road Department and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Jenks was preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Jenks and Larry Jenks; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Taylor.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jenks of Douglas; daughter, Tammy Medina and husband Antonio of Nicholls; son, Trent Lott of Douglas; grandson, Zachary Wilkins; three granddaughters, Vanessa Medina, Ofelia Medina and Paloma Medina; two great granddaughters, Zoah Medina and Aara Medina; great grandson, Daxton Medina; sister, Laura Sue Taylor of Ambrose; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; and a special dog “Boo.”

 

Funeral services were held on Wednesday May 15, 2019 at 4 pm in the Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Lott officiating. Interment followed at Lone Hill Cemetery.

 

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
