Bee Gee Travel under new ownership, holds ribbon cutting

On Thursday, June 6, the Douglas-Coffee County community celebrated the new ownership and ribbon cutting celebration for Bee Gee Travel located at 116 S. Madison Avenue. Several community members, friends and family were greeted by Chamber staff and ambassadors as all gathered to celebrate with new owners, Beverly and Jim Gibbs.

Reverend Doug Walker, First Methodist Church, prayed for continued blessings and protection for the beloved downtown business and future travelers.  Mrs. Gibbs congratulated former owner, Denise Craft, on her retirement and thanked her for hiring her in 2001 when she began learning the travel industry under Denise’s tutelage.  Ms. Craft expressed sincere appreciation to the community for traveling with Bee Gee and well wishes for the staff as they continue to provide the high-quality services that Bee Gee Travel has delivered since 1983.

Commissioners Kentaiwon Durham and Cindy McNeil shared their support on behalf of the City of Douglas, and Chamber of Commerce Past Chairman Stanley Lott shared a few of his personal experiences traveling with Bee Gee and expressed well wishes for their continued prosperity.  Be sure to give Bee Gee Travel a call at 912.384.2223 or stop by to see them for your next adventure!  Beverly Gibbs and staff, Vicki Pridemore and Amy Odom, will be eager to assist you with all your travel plans.  You can follow them on Facebook and find more information on their website at www.beegeetravelconsultants.com.
