Lucille W. Davis, age 86, of Douglas, passed away Thursday June 6, 2019 at Vista Park. Mrs. Davis was born on May 24, 1933 in Douglas, the daughter of the late Jessie Roberts and Emma Nipper Roberts.
She worked as a cook with Shady Acres Nursing Home for eighteen years and Holt’s bakery for nineteen years and was a member of First Assembly of God in Douglas.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Davis; two sons, Glenn Hutto and Kenny Hutto; and three grandsons, Wayne Crosby, Christopher Zanders and Jason Zanders.
Survivors include three sons, Eston “Pap” Hutto and wife Mary Jo of Douglas, Melvin Hutto and wife Hazel of Douglas, and Chris Zanders of West Green; daughter, Barbara Crosby and husband Albert of Douglas; thirteen grandchildren, Allen Hutto, T.J. Hutto, Paige Gordon, Krystal Wood, Carl Wilson, Tina Griffin, Tyler Hutto, Lee Hutto, Glenn Hutto Jr, Greg Hutto, Kenna Barwick, Felicia Sherrod and Christy Oliver; thirty great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; brother, Edsel Roberts of Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 8, 2019 at 2 pm at First Assembly of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock and Rev. David Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 pm until 9 pm at Sims Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Allen Hutto, T.J. Hutto, Carl Wilson, Greg Hutto, Kenneth Barwick and Kevin Wood. Great grandchildren are considered honorary pallbearers.
