Jesse McKinnon, age 71, of Uvalda, passed away on Thursday June 13, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. Mr. McKinnon was born on January 11, 1948 in Atkinson County, the son of the late Carl Jesse McKinnon and Hazel Pauline Brown McKinnon.

He worked as a supervisor for Design Space and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Harper McKinnon and four brothers, James Travis McKinnon, David Wayne McKinnon, William Randolph McKinnon and Carl Fred McKinnon.

Survivors include two daughters, Cecelia Dykes of McRae and Cheryl Young (husband Donald) of Enigma; son, Jerome McKinnon of Enigma; five grandchildren, Brooke Dykes, Josh Dykes, Alayna Dykes, Jessica Young and Donna Jo Young; three great grandchildren; brother, Russell McKinnon of Douglas; sister, Christy McKinnon Spikes of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday June 17, 2019 at 11 am at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt McEachern officiating.

Memorialization is by cremation.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
