Don Grantham, DOT board member, to visit Douglas this week

The City of Douglas and Coffee County Commission will welcome Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District 12 board member Don Grantham to Douglas and Coffee County on Thursday, June 27, 2019.  During the visit, Mr. Grantham will enjoy breakfast with local leaders from city and county government, Douglas-Coffee County Economic Development Authority, regional GDOT staff, and others. Following breakfast, Grantham will be observing areas in Douglas and Coffee County that pose transportation issues in the community, as well as transportation investments by GDOT.

Georgia DOT is governed by a 14-member state transportation board.  Mr. Grantham was elected to the GDOT Board in 2011 and his term will expire in 2024.  A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Grantham is president and CEO of the Forest Sales Corporation in Augusta.   He has served on policy making boards and in various other public service capacities throughout his career, which began with an appointment to the Georgia Ports Authority in 1974 by then-Gov. Jimmy Carter.

Mr. Grantham will also be the guest speaker during the Rotary Club Meeting at 12 noon at the Douglas Golf and Country Club.
