Parks and rec appreciation day scheduled for July 19

On Friday, July 19, 2019, from 11 am – 2 pm, Douglas Coffee County Parks and Recreation’s volunteer coaches, participants, parents, and sponsors are invited to Parks and Recreation Appreciation Day at the CE Weir Center, located at 309 E. Bryan Street.  Parks and Recreation Month is July, and our recreation department wants to say thank you to all involved with parks and programs throughout the year.

“We want to encourage everyone who participates or volunteers with our agency to come out and celebrate with us,” says Parks and Recreation Director, Stevie Young.  “This appreciation day is a way to show everyone that we value all the great things they do for our community and our programs.”

Parks and Recreation Appreciation Day will feature free food, free coke products, waterslides, door prizes, activities & games, and more.  Special thanks to McRae Coca-Cola for being our first community partner for the event.  More community partners are needed to make this event a success! For more information, please contact the Douglas Parks and Recreation Department at 912-384-5978.
