Mary Carol Robinson Dent, age 74, a long time quadriplegic, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 2, 2019 at her home in St. Augustine, Florida.

Mary Carol, the sixth child of the late Raleigh W. and Bertie Robinson, was born on December 25, 1944 in Nashville, TN. Mary graduated from David Lipscomb High School in 1962 and then attended Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt’s George Peabody College, where she earned her BA, MA, EdS and Ph. D degrees. While living in Paris she studied French at University de Paris. Mary taught in the Nashville public schools, Emory University, Atlanta, the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Fort Apache, AZ, Paris France, New York City, Georgia and Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh W. and Bertie Robinson; brother, Joe Robinson; sister-in-law, Janet Robinson; and step-son, Thomas Lowell Dent, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Lowell Dent, Sr. of St. Augustine, Florida; five step-sons, James Gregory Dent M.D. (wife Nancy) of St. Augustine, Florida, David Richard Dent (wife Carol) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Douglas Ford Dent of St. Augustine, Florida, William Henry Dent (wife Sarah) of Pinehurst, NC and Paul Alexander Dent (wife Heidi) of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Jim Robinson of Atlanta and Tom Robinson of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Anne Dale Robinson and Betty Sue Robinson of Ocean Grove, NJ; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mary lived a full, productive, happy and fruitful life of giving and receiving love. Teaching was her passion. One could feel the passion, devotion and love she had for her students, evidenced by her many awards. She took great pleasure in helping Lowell with his computer work.

Mary unconditionally loved both of her families, Nanny and Paw Paw, brothers, sisters, every child, grandchild, adopted and all loved Mary. She remembered birthday, special events, i.e. first steps, special school reports, etc, and reminded everyone.

Now, our angel is with our Lord, in His eternal paradise. Mary, we will never…no…we’ll never…stop…loving…you.
