Mr. Wyatt Stephen Spann, Jr., age 88 of Broxton, passed away Monday night, July 8, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Spann was born July 29, 1930 to the late Wyatt Stephen Spann, Sr. and the late Princie Irene Spann. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Doris O’Steen and Sue Scrubbs, and a step-son, Clyde Smith. 

Mr. Spann, a native of Coffee County, attended the schools in Broxton. He was a hardware store operator for many years. He was also a truck driver, farmer and mechanic. Mr. Spann was also a veteran of the US Navy. 

Survivors include: His wife of 31 years, Pauline Moon Spann of Broxton; brother Joe Spann of Plant City, Fla.; step-children Joyce Bland and husband Maurice, Denise Craft and husband Dennis and Gary K. Smith and wife Hannah, all of Broxton; step daughter-in-law Rose Smith of Ocilla; grandchildren Sammijo Mercer and husband Brad of Hahira, Amber Bland of Glennville, Brian Bland of Savannah, Levi Craft and wife Courtney of San Saba, Texas, Ben Craft and fiancé McKenzie Carter of Broxton, Brandy Hicks and husband Michael of Broxton, Garrett Smith and Dillon Smith, both of Broxton; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Wednesday morning, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Copeland and Rev. Den Weniger officiating. The interment will follow at Reedy Branch Cemetery near Broxton. Mr. Smith will lie in state Wednesday morning, July 10, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends this evening, July 9, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
