Mrs. Dorothy Jean Hutchison, age 67 of Douglas passed away on Monday July 8, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Hutchison was born on April 1, 1952 in Douglas to the late Jimmie Stevens and Lois Carter Stevens.

 

Mrs. Hutchison was a daycare worker at Teacher’s Too.

 

Survivors include: Husband, Walter Tommy Hutchison of Douglas; two sons, Rodney Allen Hutchison of Douglas and Christopher Scott Hutchison and wife Pam of Hazelhurst; three brothers, Donald Stevens and wife Melvine of Axson, Ronald Stevens and wife Lisa of Douglas, and David Stevens of Douglas; five sisters, Lorine Fulghum and husband Howard of Douglas, Mary Musgrove and husband Joe of Douglas, Jane Spell and husband George of Douglas, Madeline Chaney of Ocilla, and Sue Giles and husband Stacy of Pridgen; four grandchildren, Austin Hutchison and wife Victoria of Raleigh, N.C., Brooke Williams of Hazelhurst, Kelsey Williams of Hazelhurst, and Courson Hutchison of Hazelhurst; along with several nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Hutchison was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Crosby and Gloria Arnold.

 

Services will be held on Friday July 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Harrell Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Gilliard, Rev. Jimbo Steed, and Rev. Eddis Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Harrell Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday July 11, 2019 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harrell Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
