Ms. Daphine Dorminey, age 72 of Douglas, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 24, 2019 at her residence following a short illness. Ms. Dorminey was born October 16, 1946 to the late Chester Dorminey and the late Clara Mae Odum Dorminey. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Norman Bradford Harper; brothers Earl Dorminey and Vic Dorminey; and sisters Betty Jean Dorminey and Linda Ann Morrison.

Ms. Dorminey, a native of Coffee County, was a caregiver. She was also of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: Sons Donnie Harper and wife Billie Jean of Douglas and Rev. Dennis Harper and wife Tammy of Mora; special friend Morris Sparks of Douglas; brothers Tommy Dorminey of Douglas, Vernon Dorminey of Carnesville, Carlton Dorminey of Douglas, Wallace Dorminey of Stark, Fla., and Ronnie Dorminey of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepdaughters Dawn Sparks of Douglas and Zara Sparks of Valdosta; daughter-in-law Judy Harper of Douglas; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The graveside service and interment was Friday morning, July 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Griffin Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Harper officiating.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
