Hurst and Hurst CPAs announces acquisition of BYRT CPAs Audit Division

Effective July 15, 2019, Hurst and Hurst CPAs of Douglas acquired the audit division of BYRT CPAs, LLC. This acquisition will allow BYRT and Hurst & Hurst to continue to strengthen their positions as top local service providers.

Debra Yonz, partner of BYRT stated, “Hurst and Hurst’s professionals and culture are very similar to ours, and we see this as a great fit for our audit clients.  In addition, their specialization is in not-for-profit and governmental audits. Hurst and Hurst is known throughout the region for having expertise in these niches. They provide quality work, as exemplified by their past and present participation with the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of CPAs peer review programs.”

Hurst and Hurst, one of the top regional audit firms, was founded in 1966 in Waycross, Georgia and provides audit services primarily to not-for-profit, governmental and education entities throughout South Georgia.

“While we are very proud of our more than fifty year history, we recognize it would be advantageous for our team and our clients to acquire the audit division of a firm of comparable quality. BYRT shares our philosophy of helping clients,” said Robb Hurst, President of Hurst and Hurst CPAs. “This audit division acquisition will also enable us to expand our existing audit industry specializations and increase service offerings to our audit clients. I believe this will be of great benefit to our clients. By continuing to build on our firm’s strengths and reputation as CPAs and business advisors, we will be able to continue to attract the most talented professionals in the industry,” Hurst continued.

The audit division will be centrally located in the Douglas, Georgia office of Hurst and Hurst CPAs.
