Clara Mae Greene, age 76, of Broxton, passed away on Friday August 23, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Greene was born on January 4, 1943 in Fitzgerald, the daughter of the late Roger Young and Gortel McCook Young.

She worked as a dietician with the Coffee County School System and attended New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Greene; sister, Grace McLean; and brother, David Young.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Greene (wife Kristi) of Broxton and Rev. Tommy Greene (wife Sandra) of Broxton; daughter, Teresa Kirkland (husband Victor) of Nicholls; three brothers, James Young of Fitzgerald, Melton Young of Fitzgerald, and Jimmy Young of Wray; two sisters, Lois Smith of Wray and Elene Hulett of Fitzgerald; five grandchildren, Angela Spires (husband Luke), Jacob Kirkland, Vicki Kirkland, Meagan Greene and Mallory Greene; two great grandchildren, Joshua Spires and Hannah Spires; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday August 26, 2019 at 11 am at New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Vickers and Rev. Adam Young officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. 

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
