Robert “Bobby” Edwin Dowling Sr., age 81, of Douglas, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Dowling was born on June 5, 1938, in Waycross to the late Primrose Palmer Dowling and the late Wiley E. Dowling.
Survivors include: Wife Norma Louise Sayer Dowling of Douglas; daughter Heather (Troy) Cliett of Pridgen; sons Patrick (Chasity) Dowling of Douglas, Shawn (Lisa) Dowling of Douglas, Robert (Charity) Dowling of Waycross; brother Kenneth Dowling of McRae; grandchildren Tyler Cliett, Sarah Cliett, Mathew Cliett, Landon Cliett, Ashley Dowling, Kaitlin Dowling, Logan Dowling, Gavin Dowling, Ryder Dowling, Zachary Dowling; step-grandchildren Kelsey Holley, Bryce Holley and Maya Holley; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sylvia Goolsby. He was preceded in death by his father, Wiley E. Dowling; mother Primrose Palmer Dowling; and a granddaughter, Zaily Dowling.
In lieu of flowers, the Dowling family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at DeBerry Baptist Church, 5500 Fitzgerald Highway, Ambrose, Ga. 31512
Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the DeBerry Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
