Mr. Jack Edward Steptoe, age 81, of Douglas, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Steptoe was born on July 16, 1938, in Wrightsville, to the late Charlie Felton Steptoe and Lonnie Lee Tapley Steptoe.

Survivors include:  Wife Doris Marlene Barfield Steptoe of Douglas; daughter Paula (husband, Winston Walker) Steptoe of Savannah; sons Eddie (wife, Denise Josey) Steptoe of Douglas and Scott (husband, Casey Morris) Steptoe of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Jack Steptoe III of Douglas and Andrew Steptoe of Douglas; stepchildren Tammy (husband, Timothy) Fussell of Douglas, Shonie Thomas of Hahira; and step-grandchildren Jad Fussell, Alex Fussell and Rachel Fussell, all of Douglas, and Lindsay Thomas and Aaron Thomas of Hahira. 

Mr. Steptoe was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church and a retiree of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 10:45 AM at the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Ken White officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
