Mrs. Lester Faye Leavens Hancock

Mrs. Lester Faye Leavens Hancock, age 79 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 9, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Leavens was born June 12, 1940 to the late Lester Leavens and the late Lallie Bell Vickery Leavens. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hancock, Sr.; a son, John Hancock, Jr.; and three siblings, Roy Leavens, Bennie May Thomas and Margie Nell Bennett.

Mrs. Hancock, a native of Pearson, was a homemaker.

Survivors include: Children, Ronnie Hancock of Douglas, Benjamin Hancock of Jacksonville, Fla., Ernest Hancock of Douglas, Faye Hancock of DeLand, Fla., and Tommy Hancock of Douglas; a number of grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The graveside service and interment was held on Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2019 at Antioch Cemetery in Atkinson County with Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
