Barbara Jean Hutcheson age 79 passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019.  She was born in Lindsey, California, on July 31, 1940, the only child of Evelyn Bull Lehigh of Granada Hills, California and Loyed Hosey Wright of Pasadena, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her son Mark Richard Matthews, and both her parents.

Barbara retired after working for the Salvation Army in Douglas. She was an active member in her church, Saving Grace Ministries, and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 44 years, Roger D. Hutcheson of Douglas; her four daughters, Evelyn M. Roberts Daniel a resident of Douglas, Wendy J. Friedrich of Massillon, Ohio, Geri A. Spivey of Douglas, and Lori L. Wineman of Killeen, Texas. Barbara was the proud MeeMaw of eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 17, 2019, 6:00 PM-9:00 PM, at Sims Funeral Home. 

She will lie in state Friday, October 18, 2019 from 3:00 PM – 4PM with funeral services to begin at 4:00 PM at Saving Grace Ministries with Rev. Cliff Kirkland and Rev. Britt Peavy officiating.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
