Pet Therapy Club visits Vista Park

By: Kevin Tatum, County Extension Coordinator

We want to thank our 4-H members who participated in the 4-H Pet Therapy Visitation at Vista Park on Monday, October 14. Participants included: CCA: Kensley Day and Mary Lynn Peacock; Eastside: Lillyann Clark and Chloe Ferris; Junior: Glenn O’Steen; Senior: Dawson Miller and Kimberly Wright; and Westside: Delilah Merritt. Adults: Kaci H. Day, Glenda Ferris, Fran Merritt, Jason O’Steen, Victor Peacock, and Patti Wright.

4-H members who have friendly pets are invited to join our 4-H Pet Therapy Club which will take friendly pets to visit the residents at the local assisted living centers like Vista Park, The Landings, and/or Lakeside Senior Living Center. This is a great community service project which allows the residents to pet friendly animals and visit with the students. Sign up today at the 4-H office. You must have a friendly pet to participate in this club!

They were: CMS: Aaron Chaney and Taylor Thomas. Indian Creek: Hunter Rogers. Junior Club: Devin Bohannon, Glenda Grantham, Tamyra Lewis, Glenn O’Steen, Ariyah Scott, and Jamesha Warren. Pre-Club Members: Alyia Hall and Jessa Hall. Satilla: Eli Bird, Jaylin Chaney, Elizabeth Jackson, Natalie Kitchens, Maliyah Shelton, Braylen Walker, and Layla Walker. Senior Club: Muskan Minhas, Ishika Sadarangani, and Janilla Warren. Adults: Liz Batten, Chalanda Woods, and Micheal Woods, Jr.

The next workday is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, at the 4-H office. We could always use extra volunteer leaders to help. 4-H members earn 25 points toward the end of the year reward trip.

4-H Fundraiser

We need your help! Coffee County 4-H is offering Hog-N-Bones Boston Butt tickets to sell to the public. The tickets sell for $25, a savings of $5 for these Boston Butts. If you are planning to participate in a 4-H competition or attend summer camp this school year, the profit of $4 per ticket from these ticket sales can be used to pay for your team registration fee or camp fee. Tickets will be available after October 1st. A parent will have to come to the 4-H office to pick up tickets. The tickets can be used until January 2, 2020, to pick up the Boston Butt at the Douglas Hog-N-Bones restaurant anytime during their normal business hours. Remember, this fund raiser is raising money to benefit YOU! So take advantage of it today.

Please feel free to contact the 4-H office if you have additional questions about Fall Forum.

If you would like to learn how you can become more involved with the Coffee County 4-H program, please contact the Coffee County Extension office at (912) 384-1402 or visit our website at http://coffee4h.org.
