Mr. Howard Smith, age 82 of Ambrose, passed away Sunday morning, October 27, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born September 8, 1937 to the late Oliver E. Smith and the late Laura Merritt Smith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny H. Smith.

Mr. Smith, a native of Coffee County, was a farmer in the Ambrose community. He was a member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church

Survivors include: His wife of 60 years, Moveline Revis Smith of Ambrose; grandchildren Melissa Dockery and husband Brann of Ambrose and Dillon Howard Smith of Cartersville; great grandchildren Braydon Dockery and Branson Dockery, both of Ambrose; daughter-in-law Janet Smith of Ambrose; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday morning, October 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope Cemetery near Ambrose with Rev. Carroll Carver officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, October 29, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
