Eastside Elementary Pre-K enjoys first field trip

What a great first field trip adventure the Eastside Elementary Pre-K students enjoyed as they traveled to Rutland’s Pumpkin Patch.  The students were greeted by the friendly staff at Rutland’s Farms. Rutland Farms is a beautiful “child friendly learning adventure farm” that provides learning opportunities each season.

The children in Ms. Barbaree and Mrs. Shavettes’s class enjoyed a short walk on the farm through the tree crops to the animal barn.  While at the animal barn they were able to pet rabbits, feed goats, see horses, cows, donkey, and even a giant pig weighing 600 hundred pounds that drinks Mountain Drew!  After visiting the animals the children jump aboard a big covered wagon and took a trip around the huge farm while singing songs. The highlight was when the wagon stopped and the students were able to feed the fish and one small alligator!  From the hayride, the children went to the Pumpkin Patch to select that very special pumpkin to take home. It was fun creating pumpkins into Jack-o-lanterns with face stickers~ soon it was time for a picnic lunch together and homemade ice cream with sprinkles!  A quick trip to the awesome playground and it was time to say “Goodbye” to everyone at the pumpkin patch. What a great adventure it was.

Ms. Barbaree’s Class would like to say a big THANK YOU to the awesome parents and grandparents who came and helped on this first field trip.  We had enough helpers for every child…AWESOME! We appreciate your support of our Pre-K class and certainly the “hands on” help. It was another great day in Eastside Pre-K!
