Ms. Ruth Ann Hartley Burkett, age 66, of Albany, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 14, 2019, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born September 7, 1953 to the late George Hartley and the late Elizabeth Worth Hartley. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christie Marie Carter and Kristi Lynn Bowen.

Ms. Burkett, a native of Atkinson County, had lived in the Albany area for several years. She had been employed as a clerk with BP stations. She had attended Grace Point Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Children Tracy Bowen Morris and husband Donald of Cordele and Jimmy Bowen and wife Misty of Albany; companion Kenneth Jordan of Albany; brother Fred Hartley of Douglas; sisters Mary Hall and Sue Dallas, both of Douglas, and Betty Worth of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren Morgan Bowen and Nicholas Bowen, both of Albany,  Keith Morris and Amanda Morris and husband Daniel, both of Cordele, McKenna Morris of Albany, and Jimmy Morales of Groveland, Fla.; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The memorial service and inurnment will follow at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
