Ben’s Hair Studio celebrates with ribbon cutting
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Monday, November 18 to celebrate the new location of Ben’s Hair Studio at the newly renovated Creamery Building in downtown Douglas located at 105 West Phillips Street Suite 101.
Ben Walls, owner and master cosmetologist, has truly mastered his art with over 35 years of experience. Ben is a lifelong resident of Coffee County and is the son of Herbert and Edna Walls. Many will remember Ben’s parents as his mother was also a cosmetologist for over 20 years and his father worked with the City of Douglas when there were only two meter readers to cover the entire city. After retiring, Ben shared that his father went on to work for many years at the creamery, the same property he has now established his new studio.
Guests joining the celebration included GracePointe Church Pastor Chris Watson, City of Douglas Mayor Tony Paulk, Chamber of Commerce Past Chairman Stanley Lott, Chamber/EDA President John Henry, Vice President Lisa Hodge, Main Street Director Dave Hughes, Chamber Staff Jennifer Surrency and Hannah Compton, Chamber Ambassador Joe Sports, Broadcast South Matt Baldridge, Mayo Insurance Agency/Country Financial Earl and Kim Mayo, longtime friends and clients, Maudine Wright, Shirley Doyle and Marvin Stafford. Stop by to see Ben at the new beautifully decorated studio or give him a call at (912) 292-6154.
