Gregory Wayne Sayer, age 50, of Fitzgerald, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019. Mr. Sayer was born on March 10, 1969 in Douglas, the son of Wayne Sayer and Willene Wright Sayer.

 

Gregory was the owner/operator of Shann Peanut Company in Ambrose.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Marc Shannon Sayer; grandparents, Vernie and Lennie Wright; and Rev. Jimmie and Dorothy Sayer.

 

Survivors include his wife, LaRan Sayer of Fitzgerald; four daughters, Macey Sayer, Rachel Sayer, Sophia Sayer and Kaitlin Kirkland, all of Fitzgerald; two sons, Mark Gregory Sayer and Cameron Kirkland, both of Fitzgerald.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2019 at 2:00pm at Bethany Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Stacey Carver, Rev. Donald Burke and Rev. Steve Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the Sayer Family Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Haley Ellis, Sage Evans, Jacob Whitaker, Keith Wright, David Carter, Craig Vickers and Joel Spivey.

 

Music will be provided by Trevor Smith and Janice Smith singing “I Want Us to be Together in Heaven,” “I’ll be Waiting at the River for You,” and “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.”

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
