Mr. Ralph Smith, age 72 of Douglas, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 17, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born November 27, 1947 to the late Isaac Brown Smith and the late Betty Roxie Tanner Smith.

Mr. Smith, a native of Douglas, was the owner and operator of Georgia Metals. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Smith attended Westside Holiness Church.

Survivors include: Daughter Melissa Smith Haas of Douglas; sisters Janice Spivey and husband Jack and Patricia Ann Phillips and husband Charles, both of Douglas, Carolyn McMillan and husband David of Crestview, Fla., and Ollavan Brown of Orange Park, Fla.; brother Joel Edward Smith of New Braunfels, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The memorial service will be Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
