Mrs. Peggy Sue Seagraves Hurd, age 70, of Douglas, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at the Candler Hospital in Savannah. Mrs. Hurd was born on May 18, 1949, in Athens to the late Albert Seagraves and the late Mildred Seagraves.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Dewillis Hurd, Jr, of Douglas; grandson Justin Garrett Hurd of Brunswick; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Phillip Dewillis Hurd, Sr.
Peggy was an active member of First Baptist Church, served as Family Ministry Center administrator for 10 years and taught Sunday school. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the local charity of your choice.
The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Donald Hattaway officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at First Baptist Church.
