On January 27, at the monthly school board meeting, the winners of the annual Christmas card contest, sponsored by Satilla REMC, were announced. This contest is designed for students in grades K-5 in Satilla’s service area to create and share their own uniquely designed Christmas card to go along with the theme, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”

This year, Satilla received approximately 2,000 entries from elementary and primary schools within the service area. They choose a winner from each grade-level, and each winner receives a Wal-Mart gift certificate. From Coffee County, two students were chosen as winner for their grade levels and were recognized at the meeting. Bethany Banda, from West Green Elementary, won for the first grade level, but was unable to attend the board meeting. Aaliyah Jordan, also from West Green Elementary school, won for the third grade level, and attended the board meeting where she was recognized. Congratulations to both students for their excellent achievement. Satilla REMC would like to thank everyone who participated, supported, and aided in the coordination of this event.
