Mr. Talmadge “Pete” Worth

Mr. Talmadge “Pete” Worth, age 90 of Douglas, passed away late Monday evening, February 10, 2020, following an extended illness. Mr. Worth was born February 22, 1929 to the late Enoch Worth and the late Josephine Chaney Worth. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Corbitt Worth; siblings Albert Worth, Alton Worth, Vera Worth, Sallie Shrouder, Gussie Harrell and Thorpe Worth; grandchildren Greg Barile; and infant twin granddaughters.

Mr. Worth was a native of Coffee County. He had retired from the Coffee County Road Department where he was a tractor mechanic. Mr. Worth was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Children Mary Sue Hatten of Nicholls, Dianne Law of Davisboro, Danny Worth of Douglas, and Jeanette Barile of Douglas; sister Geneva Stone of West Green; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Friday, February 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Courson, Jr. officiating. The interment will follow in Satilla Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends, Thursday evening, February 13, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Worth Cemetery Plot Restoration Fund @ Ameris Bank. Donations can be mailed to Ameris Bank, Attn: Jeanette Barile 901 Bowens Mill Road SW Douglas, GA 31533

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
