The City of Douglas has been notified that CSX Railroad contractors will be conducting routine maintenance in Douglas, which will require rail crossing closures and detour routes. The expected dates of maintenance are March 3 – 5, 2020 for the following rail crossing locations in Douglas: Shirley Avenue (Mar. 5), Sinkhole Road (Mar. 5), Barrington Road (Mar. 4), Salem Church Road (Mar. 4), Chaney Road (Mar. 4) and Mitchell Road (Mar. 3). Other rail crossings will be closed throughout Coffee County on various dates beginning mid-February.

Motorists are asked to use caution and allow more drive time due to the detour routes.

Signage will be places marking detour routes. Expected closure time is 2-5 days, however, depending on weather conditions and unexpected repairs, the rail crossing closure may be delayed or extended. The City of Douglas will notify citizens when notified by CSX of any changes in the schedule. Any/all dates are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.
