Wilma Lee Burch Adams, age 77, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her daughter’s residence. Mrs. Adams was born on October 12, 1942 in Douglas, Georgia the daughter of the late Willie Burch Sr. and the late Odessa Carter Burch.
Mrs. Adams worked as a manager with Suwannee Swifty and Carver Minute Market, was a homemaker and a member of Unity Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Adams; son, Don Edward Adams Sr.; brother, Carlos Burch; and a sister, Betty Jean Coleman.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie Velardi (Anthony) of Douglas, GA; five brothers, Willie Burch Jr. (Glenda) of West Green, GA, Troy Burch (Phillis) of West Green, GA, Roy Burch (Bernice) of West Green, GA, Billy Carroll Burch of Douglas, GA and Robert Burch of Douglas, GA; daughter-in-law, Brenda Kay Adams of Douglas, GA; five grandchildren, Don Adams Jr., Bryan Adams, Jacklyn Adams, Tyler Bennett (Makayla Courson) and Troy Ray Moore Jr. (Paris); two step-grandchildren, Judy Velardi and Destinee Velardi; five great grandchildren, Ashton Adams, William Johnson, Hunter Moore, Aubreigh Moore and Rylynn Bennett; three step-great grandchildren, Braden McQuaig, Grayson McQuaig and Konner McQuaig; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 27, 2020 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 2:00pm at Unity Church with Rev. Joseph Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Roxie Mae Church Cemetery, Nicholls, GA. Mrs. Adams will lay-in-state from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Woods Sr., Troy Moore Sr., Steve Lott Sr., Ricky Moore, Dale Waldron and Daniel Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Adams, Stacey Adams, Steven Adams, Randy Stalling, Keagan Burch, Dewayne Burch and Big Ray Moore.
