Edward Joseph Chybicki, age 90, of Douglas, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Chybicki was born on July 12, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Bruno Chybicki and the late Louise Abramowski Chybicki.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was Yellow Freight truck driver.
Survivors include: Wife Verneal Nipper of Douglas; daughters Deborah Herron of Hartselle, AL, Gail (Wright) Nipper of Douglas, GA; sons Edward David Chybicki of Minooka, IL, Donald Brian Chybicki of Baxley, GA; step-daughters Rose Powell of Douglas, GA and Le Ann Woods of Douglas, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Chybicki; brothers Joseph Dudzik, Paul Chybicki, and Robert Chybicki; sister Dorothy Fotik; and grandson Keith Eric “Biskit” Chybicki.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Paul O’Connell and Rev. Floyd Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 6, 2020 from 6:00 Pm to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
