With much sadness, we announce the passing of Lillian Mae Cohran Woods, our loving mother and wife of 64 years to Ira Woods, Jr. on March 6, 2020.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, to Leon and Alma Cohran, Lillian would soon live with her family in various places from the tips of South Florida, the Gulf coast, North Florida, and South Georgia.

Lillian lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker, and worker in retail, manufacturing, and with CDL in hand, a co-driver of semi-trucks with her beloved husband of 64 years, Ira Woods, Jr.

She loved to cook, believed in freshly swept and mopped floors, clean children, and was very skilled in maintaining vehicles with oil checks, tire presser checks, and a good washing (which usually turned into fun time with us children for playing under the water hose). Her most favorite comfort food was French fries and flour gravy. She loved spending time outdoors, cutting the grass, planting flowers, and spending time with family.

Most of all, she loved her family and valued every minute she could spend with them. She believed that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Alma Cohern; and oldest son, Ronald Devon Woods

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ira Woods, Jr. of Nicholls, GA; daughters Robin Dale Woods Kirkland (Rod Kirkland) of Glennville, GA and Rebecca Diane Woods Callejas (Eddie Callejas) of Douglas; sons Richard Dewane Woods of Nicholls, GA and Robert Donald Woods of Nicholls; 34 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister, Susan Cohran Lee of Yulee, Florida; niece, Lisa Marie Kugler (spouse BJ Kugler); special great niece Evangeline Grace Kugler; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. Robin Kirkland will give a eulogy. Interment will follow at Meeks Cemetery, Nicholls, GA.

Pallbearers will be Rod Kirkland, Eddie Callejas, Jason Bradley, Devin Callejas, Richard Woods, Richard Sikes, Robert Woods and Steven Kirkland.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
