In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Coffee Regional Medical Center has altered its visitor policy. Earlier today, CRMC released the following statement:

“Coffee Regional Medical Center continues to monitor the global COVID-19 outbreak closely. At this time, there are no known cases locally. However, our goal is to ensure a safe place for our patients and our caregivers. In doing so, we wish to follow guidelines put forward by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which in part recommend avoiding crowded gatherings. Effective immediately, CRMC has implemented patient visitor restrictions to ensure the safest possible environment for all patients and visitors. CRMC asks that patients have no more than two healthy visitors over the age of 18 at any given time. We encourage children under the age of 18 to refrain from visiting patients in the hospital at this time. We suggest that those wishing to visit a patient instead consider a phone call to share updates and well wishes by speaking with patients by using either their cell phone or private hospital phone, available in each patient room. To speak with a patient at CRMC, call 912-384-1900.

“We all want a safe and healthy community and we appreciate your support in helping us keep our patients and your wellbeing at the center of our care.”

According to a story posted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there have been six confirmed cases and 11 presumptive cases of COVID-19 in Georgia.
