Ms. Lola West Charles, age 96 of Douglas, passed away Monday afternoon, March 9, 2020 at The Landings of Douglas, following a short illness. Ms. Charles was born May 22, 1923 to the late Earl D. West and the late Bertha Chapman West. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Charles, and two daughters.
Ms. Charles was a native of Canada, KY but had been living in the Douglas area for several years. She and her late husband had been self-employed in the poultry business with a number of chicken houses to operate.
Survivors include six grandchildren, including Sheilla Henry of Douglas, GA.
The funeral service will be Saturday morning, March 14, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Chapel of R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, KY with interment to follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, KY.
Ms. Charles will be taken to R.E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, KY on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
